K09: @Misha: It would've been better than any of the clone ships... aside from Suna, but only BARELY since they bothered to give an episode highlighting that, outside of music, they don't have a ton of things in common.
DemonRider: @KO9 suna is really no better either. It's just about as forced. Like you said, they don't have anything in common and could barely work together. It's only still a thing because everyone drools over seeing them on screen because of LGBT representation.
K09: @DemonRider: Not really. Having a common connection is how a lot of relationships start, and the entire reason they couldn't cooperate was because one of them was out of their element and then Luna tried to lie and pretend she understood ships, and then they found something that BOTH of them are crappy at and bonded over. The entire point of the episode was that just because they have differences doesn't mean they can't make it work, and that they could try and find something besides music that they could do TOGETHER. You know, like a couple?
People exaggerate how amazing it is, when in truth, it's fairly mediocre, but it's not forced. It's just... a bland relationship with nothing stand-out about it besides them both being girls, like most relationships. Most couples aren't all that exciting in real life because of things like differing interests, things they can afford to do, so on and so forth. It's just part of life.
